Oil and gasoline hanoi rocks3/21/2023 In 2003 “A Day Late and A Dollar Short” “One Night Stand” & Twelve Shots On The Rocks” then in 2005 “Another Hostile Takeover” followed by 2007’s “Fashion” & “Street Poetry” However even as a hard core fan I feel the magic was gone, I feel perhaps they were trying to make new music for a new audience. Hanoi Rocks did have a reunion period from 2003- 2007 Michael Monroe & Andy McCoy reformed Hanoi Rocks, However without Sam Yaffa or Nasty Suicide to release 5 studio records and 1 live album. After which they became the “Suicide Twins” for 1 album “Silver Missiles & Nightingales” Sometime in 1999 2 compilation albums were released out out-takes and rare material “Day In The Glamorous Life” & “Make Some More Noise”Īndy McCoy & Nasty Suicide formed the “Cherry Bombz” in 1986 and released 2 studio albums “Hot Girls In Love” & “House Of Ecstasy” and a live album “Coming Down Slow” before going their separate ways. Sam Yaffa went on to join the band “Jetboy” for 2 albums in 1988 “Feel The Shake” & 1990 “Damned Nation”. His newest 2011 release was produced by Jack Douglas of ‘Aerosmith’ fame Michael Monroe and Sam Yaffa will be “In Concert” Sunday 9 October 2011 at “Station 4” in St. Rose in the video “Dead, Jail or Rock N Roll” In the aftermath of Hanoi Rocks, Michael Monroe released 7 solo albums his 2nd 1989 release “Not Fakin It” featured Axel W. Vince Neil “I bought my way out of jail, like a modern day OJ” (Rumor Mill has it that Razzle was involved in a drunk driving indecent a few years before, in the UK where a passenger died…Karma?) The ‘Clash’s’ Terry Chimes (5jul1956 London) finished out the drum duties on the rest of the 1985 European Tour where a rare ‘live’ album was recorded and released “Rock N Roll Divorce” 1985 Live In Poland (of all places) stand out track “Looking At You” (MC5) and live tracks off ‘Two Steps From The Move’ however the band was just not the same, so in June 1985 Monroe left the band, thus ending the original Hanoi Rocks. While on some time off for Monroe’s fractured heel Razzle and Vince Neil (Vincent Neal Wharton 8feb1961) decided to make a beer run, Vince was driving drunk and lost control of his vehicle killing Razzle and injuring 2 other people in an oncoming auto. The band embark on the first US tour with Motley Crue. Being huge ‘Creedence Clearwater Revival’ fans they cut “Up Around The Bend” later McCoy & Suicide in 1986 would record “Travelin Band” as the ‘Cherry Bombz’. The year of “Big Brother” Hanoi Rocks gets signed to a major US label Epic/ Sony and working with “Mott The Hoople’s” Ian Hunter (3jun1939 UK) & Overend Watts (Peter Watts 13may1947) record their final opus as the original Hanoi Rocks, “Two Steps From The Move” in early 1984 stand outs “I Can’t Get It” “Cutting Corners” “Underwater World” “Million Miles Away” & “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams” strangely the title track was left off this release “Two Steps From The Move” however there are 2 different versions on 2 other albums. The band take off on a tour of Europe and Japan with live concerts being recorded at the Marquee Club in the UK and released as the album & VHS “All Those Wasted Years” in late 1983 notable tracks “Under My Wheels” & “Train Kept A Rollin” and a TV Broadcast in Japan which came out as an UN-Official double album “Live in Tokyo” Stand out tracks “Mental Beat” “Tooting Bec Wreck” “Until I Get You” Malibu Beach Nightmare” & “Back To Mystery City” they band do record a couple songs that do not make the LP “Malibu Beach” (reggae version) & a really odd song “Do The Duck”. With Razzle on board the band embark on their 4th album (but first with Razzle) which I personally feel their best and strongest effort yet “Back To Mystery City” in early 1983.

Half wing monarch butterfly image3/21/2023 This stems from normal organic pigments, rather than physical structure, and does not change with viewing angle. The scales on the underside of the Morpho’s wing do not cause interference. The slits are attached to a base of melanin, a material that absorbs light, further strengthening the blue image.ĭetailed views of scales from the wing tops, and wing undersides. Because the distance between slits corresponds to half of the wavelength of blue light, this is the wavelength that undergoes constructive interference. The slits in the scales of the Morpho are 200 nm apart. Why does the Morpho appear blue?īlue light has a wavelength range from 400 to 480 nm. If the crest of one wave meets the trough of another wave (out of phase), they will cancel each other out, as destructive interference occurs. One light wave hits the first groove, and a second light wave travels half of a wavelength to another groove, and is then reflected back in phase with the first. If the crests and the troughs of the waves are aligned, or in phase, they will cause constructive interference, and iridescence is the result. "Interference" occurs when light hitting the wing interacts with light reflected off the wing. Sunlight contains a full range of light wavelengths. The iridescence is caused by multiple slit interference. The scales overlap like roof tiles and completely cover the membrane, appearing as dust to the naked eye. Each scale is a flattened outgrowth of a single cell and is about 100 µm long and 50 µm wide. The wings of butterflies and moths consist of a colorless translucent membrane covered by a layer of scales (the name of the order is Lepidoptera, meaning "scaly wings"). Scales from the top and bottom of a Morpho wing Pilots flying over the rain forest can occasionally see brief flashes of blue as these butterflies travel above the forest canopy. Their iridescence stems from the microscopic structure of their wings. The males have beautiful metallic blue upper wings, while the females are drab. The Morpho butterflies are among the largest in the world, with a wingspan of 7.5 to 20 cm. Variations in the spacing of the pattern often gives rise to an iridescent effect, as seen in peacock feathers, soap bubbles, films of oil, and mother-of-pearl, because the reflected color depends upon the angle of view. Structural color is responsible for the colors of the feathers of many birds (including the blue jay, hummingbirds and pheasants), as well as certain butterfly wings and beetle shells. They arise from the arrangement of physical structures interacting with light to produce a particular color. Structural colors are created by an optical effect (such as interference, refraction, or diffraction) rather than by a pigment. Yet, the delicate beauty of iridescent butterfly wings belies their intricate structure and functionality as the perfect foil for predators. This brilliant blue butterfly can be found in the rain forests of South America (Brazil & Guyana).īutterflies have fascinated humankind for millennia, and have been interpreted in a variety of ways, from omens of love to personifications of the soul. Exit the gungeon unlocks3/21/2023 This mechanic ruins much of the game's challenge as you can spam your jump and rolls constantly without ever taking damage as long as you don't land right on top of an enemy or inside of a bullet's hitbox. This means that as long as you're jumping or dodging you can literally pass through enemy projectiles without taking any damage you can only take damage while touching the ground. This is because I discovered that you're actually 100% invulnerable while airborne. However, on my second run, I ended up beating the game's final boss. This element honestly makes the game's form of progression feel pretty meaningless as you'll still find yourself rolling horrible weapons like the long-charging blunderbuss during challenging fast-paced boss fights.Įxit the Gungeon's challenge feels like it should come from its small environments that are constantly filled with flying bullets and dangerous enemies. Additionally, you have no idea whether that minute will be well-spent shredding a difficult boss, or absolutely wasted battling basic throwaway enemies on the elevator. This means that even after you've unlocked an extremely powerful weapon, you might only get to use it for 1 minute of a 30-minute run. That's because in Exit the Gungeon every 15-ish few seconds your gun randomly rerolls, giving you another gun you've unlocked. The issue is that even unlocking new weapons doesn't really feel like progression. After each run, you're sent back to "The Breach", a safe-haven where you can switch between playable characters and spend your hard-earned credits on cosmetics or new weapons. Exit the Gungeon does away with that randomized element in its level design, making even a single run feel pretty boring and repetitive environmentally.Īnother element missing in Exit the Gungeon is a feeling of progression. Even in a title like Risk of Rain 2, where the same planets are repeatedly cycled through, other elements like chest and teleporter locations are randomized. Unfortunately, Knighthood progression does not carry over across each character, meaning you need to meet the requirements four separate times to unlock everyone’s traversal ability.Games like Spelunky and The Binding of Isaac feel different each run because of their randomized environments. You then have to interact with Batman’s mask and you’ll gain access to whichever traversal ability corresponds to a particular character. These appear in locations all around the Belfry, so walk towards them, interact with them, and you’ll get a short cutscene. How to unlock new traversal abilitiesĪfter you’ve met the requirements listed above, visit the Belfry and you’ll see a new icon tied to the character you’re playing as. You’ll probably come across these naturally as you grind for XP and gear. Defeat 3 EnforcersĮnforcers are heavy enemies that appear as part of Crimes, so be sure to keep an eye out for them as you gather intel for Premeditated Crimes. Keep in mind, you likely won’t come across 10 enemies to interrogate within one night’s patrol, so be prepared to spend a bit of time on this one, unfortunately. Once you stop 10 of these, you’ll earn credit towards Knighthood. These are indicated by a red marker on the map. Doing so will unlock a Premeditated Crime, which will appear on the next night’s patrol. You’ll then come across certain enemies with a question mark above their heads, indicating you can interrogate them for information. As you engage with regular Crimes, be sure to scan your enemies ahead of time. Premeditated Crimes are ones that you can gather intel for on the previous night’s patrol. Under the Advanced Training menu, you’ll see a Timed Strikes tutorial, which requires you to perform five standard and heavy Timed Strikes attacks. Within the Belfry, make your way over to the training area by the dummy. Intime customer service3/21/2023 The type of reviews and information that is available to consumers today about nearly any product they’re considering investing in was nowhere near as readily available as it is today. To find out information about a company’s product, the only information the consumer could be provided was the company created information. The primary ways that they were able to communicate with the company were through fax, calls, voicemails, and eventually, emails as the internet became more widespread. In today’s consumer society, companies can be reached through social media, email, live chat, and in some cases, messenger apps - and the customer service department is typically available 24/7.īack then, it wasn’t as easy to get in contact with a company as it has become today. The way the customer communicates with a company has vastly changed over the last twenty years. With only 41% of American adults online during 1998, the online feedback about customer service experiences would hardly be able to have the same impact it does today. Through both of these, a customer could share their experience with a brand instantly to whoever was in the chat room or whoever happened to stumble upon their Geocities site. A good customer service experience could have the same effect that customer goes home and calls up their friend to tell them about how fabulous the service was so that the friend tells theirs and goes to check out the company on their own.įor both good and bad experiences to be shared in a massive way such as they are today, the closest they could come would be AOL Instant Messenger chat rooms or on self-created Geocities websites. One incident could quickly turn away customers the brand already had or could have acquired if the experience had been positive. One bad customer service experience and that person would be on the phone telling their friend what had happened who would, in turn, tell their friends and so on. Word of mouth would help build a brand’s business or cause a potential customer to turn away due to an experience someone they knew had and informed them of. In the case of the customer, the way customer service was primarily talked about hasn’t changed very much. Let’s jump inside our online time machine and take a look. So in a world that wasn’t wholly connected online yet and where all the information about a company and their customers’ experiences weren’t at the tips of a potential customer’s fingers (yeah, no smartphones either) how did people talk about customer service then? Social media as we know it today with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Yelp was nothing but a long distance pipe dream that would take another few years to begin becoming a reality. Recess was for trading Pokemon cards, and you were trying hard not to kill your Tamagotchi.Ĭomputers were operating on Windows 98 and came with Internet Explorer, Google was only just founded, and Amazon merely sold books. Movies were rented at the video store and odds were if you were a kid, you were blowing into the cartridge of your favorite video game and praying it worked without erasing your game in the process. The average income for a household in 1998 was $38,100 - you could fill your car for $1.15 a gallon, and a stamp cost all of 32 cents. While many of the things we know and are familiar with came to be that year, there were a lot of things different about the world back then. The year of political sex scandals, the unveiling of the first iMac from Apple, and the introduction of Harry Potter to the world. The year of Titanic and Leonardo DiCaprio, Godzilla, Saving Private Ryan, Armageddon and Steven Tyler’s screaming about not missing a thing. The year of boy bands, Britney Spears and the Spice Girls. Bigen xpressive3/21/2023 And I'm seriously contemplating going SUPER dark for the fall winter, like black. And not only that but I noticed that there are a few strands at my hairline that are growing in a very light color.I don't know if these strands are the start of grays, or what (my father went gray around my age), but I don't like how it looks. So I have brown roots down to the tops of my ears and it fades to red all the way down. My hair is naturally dark but I used to dye it red, and last October I dyed it black (Nutrisse), and it lasted a while but it eventually faded to red again. What really got me interested was that you said this is great for dark hair and grays. Thanks! I was wondering about that, because I usually take 2 boxes of drug store dye, and I was worried that I would need like 4 bottles of the Bigen if I were to use it LOL. There are other attractive natural hair dye alternatives out there, but Bigen is really great for dark haired curlies going gray - so gentle! and such rich color! It's just great to have options I'm glad that people are trying this and interested in it. Also, it's pretty cheap - one box retails from between $4.25 and $6 from what I've seen in drugstores and the internet. Since you are mixing the powder with water, it makes a lot more dye than you think, and you can control the consistency - it's not runny at all, so quite easy to apply. The hair powder comes in a tiny, super cute amber glass bottle (.21 oz), and the box includes a slim plastic cyclinder to use for measuring water to add to the powder to create a paste (so, you will need to supply a bowl, something to mix it up with and some plastic gloves). I have medium thick shoulder length hair and 1 box is plenty for me, almost too much, but your hair looks thicker and longer. I've seen pictures of your hair, and you might need 2 boxes. Apple Cider Vinegar rinses might help too, if you like those, for clarifying.Īlso, I would recommend the tint (or painters) brush just for roots application/touch ups, but otherwise smooth on the hair dye on with your gloved hands for the rest of your hair. that is, if your hair can tolerate heavy humectants. As for the cucumber and aloe conditioner, I would add honey and oil to it for color stripping/fading. It's also a pretty decent brand of hair color and should do the trick without damage or dryness (at least, I think Excellence is pretty good, although still preferred Nutrisse when I was using drugstore permanent hair color). Good to hear that you like the color better today Excellence does have peroxide, so should work to lighten your hair color. Let us know what you do and how it works out! I think that hair porosity will affect that too. But a good warning (again) that Bigen goes on dark. In other words, what about using curl friendly, moisturizing techniques to tone the color down a few notches, all the things that we do to avoid color stripping. You can also OD on hot oil treatments and glycerine heavy stylers too. What about using a lot of honey in conditioner to lighten, as well as using hair conditioners that have lemon and other citrus extracts. I did that the last time and was very happyĪs for covering over the dark color, it might be hard to go lighter without using peroxide (although if you are willing to use peroxide for this purpose, would highly recommend Garnier Nutrisse - as for safety, you probably could use Garnier a couple of weeks after the Bigen with no problem since Bigen is all natural). I plan to cut the dark 57 color with lighter colors.Īnother thing that is great about using Bigen for touch ups is that you can mix up half the bottle and just apply that to your roots and leave on 15 minutes, and then mix up the rest of the bottle and apply to the rest of the hair for another 10 minutes or so. One thing I will experiment with is MIXING their colors since it's a powder and you can customize. 56 was better on me, and I've ordered a bunch of lighter browns numbered in the 40s (I think the higher numbers are darker). I've used 56 (rich medium brown) and 57 (dark brown), and got rich dark brunette color both times. However, jet black from a product labeled dark chestnut seems a bit extreme. And I recommend it only for people who want dark hair. I think it is way too dark and I am thinking about covering it with another color. I tried this yesterday and while it does a good job of covering the gray it is too dark! I got dark chestnut but it looks like jet black on me. Limechat proxy3/21/2023 Here we collect awesome macOS software in various categories. Features like a spell checker and automatic network joining make it easy to converse on IRC channels. Now we have become very big and different from the original idea. Unlike some freeware IRC clients out there, it is still under active development. It features an easily customizable interface. It features a user-friendly interface that is easy to configure and includes a scripting language to allow you to automate IRC functions.Īnother open-source IRC client which has versions that run on Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems is HexChat. Its popularity has been built on its functionality which includes file transfers, connecting to multiple servers, buddy lists, and proxy support. MIRC is a popular IRC client that is available for the Windows operating system. The software is very fast and lightweight and allows file transfers, auto-joining of channels, and many keyboard shortcuts to save you time. LimeChat has a console style interface, making it more suitable for experienced IRC users. It allows you to use one window for multiple servers. Here is another nice IRC client that runs on macOS as well as iOS. It is compatible with mIRC colors and supports DCC file transfer. It has a professional looking interface which mimics other Apple applications. It’s an open-source project that is free to use and offers a host of features to make your time on IRC more enjoyable. The IRC software made its way to various U.S. He recruited Mike Jacobs, who would become the first IRC user located outside of Scandinavia. The use of IRC spread to the United States when Oikarinen obtained an account on MIT’s famous “ai.ai.mit.edu” computer. Its popularity spread further and it was soon running across Scandinavia on the Scandinavian network NORDUNET. The IRC client was upgraded to include support for Emacs editor commands and soon was in use on the Finnish network FUNET. Once IRC became popular enough that it began attracting more than 10 users, Oikarinen asked friends at universities in south Finland to run IRC servers in order to spread the processing load. Before the advent of the World Wide Web, the existence of email and IRC were two of the prime reasons that an individual would want to connect to the Internet. IRC is an excellent example of the ability of ideas and tools to quickly spread using the power afforded by the Internet. It was first deployed on OuluBox at the end of August 1988. He decided to improve MUT and the result was IRC. Jarkko was not satisfied with MultiUser Talk (MUT), the multi-user chat program that was currently in use on OuluBox. He was responsible for a Sun Unix server that the department ran on a public bulletin board system named OuluBox. Oikarinen was employed at the University’s Department of Information Processing Science in the summer of 1988. This surely won’t help the Redmond-based company’s case, but we’ll just have to wait and see the results of this investigation. Microsoft is already being probed by European regulators over its $69 billion proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard. No matter how you slice the matter, the truth is that this would not be a good time for Microsoft to be engaged in another antitrust investigation. That didn’t happen, but the Redmond tech giant ended up launching the Teams app itself, thus starting this ever-burning fire.
